Session #1 - To cautiously go...

Our first proper session opened with a briefing my the Player Characters' Æon Trinity liaison and briefing officer; Basile Ikouébé.

The Task Force is underway, having left station at Absolute Zero and is now heading to a safe jump point away from habitation to minimise any psionic backlash. Basile confirms that the mission is a joint effort between the United Nations and the Æon Trinity, utilizing manpower and resources from both organisations, the PSI orders and the United Republic of Great Britain. He also announces that he can now reveal their intended destination: a new extrasolar system, previously unexplored by humanity.

The system has been named "Victoria" and is known to have at least one world that appears habitable: "Britannia". The system was a United Republic discovery and this explains the high level of British presence on the mission. However Lili suspects that this isn't the whole truth.

Basile then outlines the general plan for once the Task Force arrives in the Victoria System. The OE Pathfinder scientific frigate "Pioneer" will split from the main Task Force to survey the wider system while The White Lion and Odysseus and it's accompanying Scarabs and hybrid craft head to Britannia.

The team are given an opportunity to ask questions and both Kojo and Ryland take the opportunity to learn more about the jump process and what little is already known about the new system.

Work assignments are then issued with our player characters forming a team to support Dr Cross' research and set up his experimental trans-system communications arrays on Britannia.

A day or so later Odysseus makes the jump and most of the mission team experience their first jumpship teleport. Upon arrival in the new system Kojo almost immediately jumps to the exterior of Odysseus so that he can bask in and observe a whole new set of stars. Janos finds out and has stern words with him citing it as a breach of procedure and a potential risk to the crew and mission.

After some initial sensor sweeps Pioneer bids farewell to the rest of the Task Force and heads out on it's mission. The remainder of the vessels set course for Britannia.

The journey in system takes some days and during that time the crew set to work. Lili prepares the hybrid transport that will take to the surface and the gear that Dr Cross specifies will be needed. She takes the ship out for a few trial flights in and around the Task Force vessels. Meanwhile Ryland is busy collating and reviewing sensor data. While doing so he makes a possible discovery. Calling on Kojo to help him verify his research, they believe that they can see evidence of organised mineral structures; possibly buildings or some other construction. They decide to plan for a suitable landing site near to both the possible structures and a potential site for Ryland's experiments.
